THE army-backed JSS Reformists on Wednesday
night burnt down UPDF leader Projit Chakma’s house in Dighinala, Khagrachari
district.
A group of armed men led by Bidhan, a
so-called Section Commander of the armed wing of the JSS-Reformists, raided
Range-para village at 10 p.m. and set the house on fire.
‘The house has been completely destroyed,’
Projit, who is the organizer of UPDF Mahalchari unit, told chtnews.com.
He said Bidhan had a few hours earlier called
him to warn that they would burn down his house.
A few days ago, the Reformists had also burnt
down several houses belonging UPDF supporters in Merung area and driven many
others from the area.
