UPDF leader shot dead in Banduk-bhanga

AN organizer of the United Peoples’ Democratic Front (UPDF) has been shot dead in Dhamaichara Moanpara village under Banduk-bhanga Union of Rangamati district.

Members of the army-backed Jargo Party vigilante group led by Tapan Jyoti Chakma alias Borma shot dead Anol Bikash Chakma, also known as Laxmi, on Friday (15 December) night after waking him up.

Policeman attempts to rape Jumma girl in Laxmichari

The incident took place at 8:30 p. m. near UNO office when the 15-year-old, a ninth grade student, was walking back home after meeting her friends.

House-to-house search in Harinath Para

 THE ARMY on Thursday conducted a house-to-house search in Talukder Para (Barengya Chara) under greater Harinath Para village in Khagrachari district.

Two members of the Jargo Party, also known as Nobyo Mukhosh Bahini, accompanied the army.

According to sources, a group of army personnel from Khagrachari Sadar zone and Jongoli Tila base camp carried out the search at 4 p.m. on December 14.

Army threatens 7 Jumma families to vacate land in Sajek

Six mobile phones snatched by Jargo Party

SIX mobile handsets were snatched away by members of the Jargo Party vigilante group as they raided Harinath Para under Golabari Union in Khagrachari district under army protection on Saturday night, December 02.

The Jargo Party terrorists were accompanied by members of the JSS-MN Larma faction, one of whom has been identified by locals as Milon Tripura from Thana Chandra Para village.

According to the victims’ and eyewitnesses’ accounts, the Jargo Party members raided Harinath Para at 9 p.m. with active support from the army.

Four houses searched in Khagrachari
